Yamaha R6 UBI Report

Update: New Yamaha R6 has made global debut. The bike gets R1 inspired small, twin headlamp setup, along with the claim of ‘most aerodynamic R6 till date’. Apart from obvious cosmetic changes, the bike also get lots more features including 6 way adjustable Traction control and D-mode.

Yamaha could introduce the R6 in India in the space left vacant by the old R1.

The Yamaha R6 is one of the most familiar middleweight sportsbike around. It had peaked many years in the competitive segment but has now begun to show signs of ageing. The bike may soon be in for a major update.

With Yamaha completely changing their flagship R1, it needs to be seen how different the new R6 model comes out.

Powering the current model is a 599cc forward-inclined parallel 4-cylinder engine that produces 122 bhp at 14,500 rpm and 65.7 Nm at 10,500 rpm. It is mated to a six speed transmission.
